Nova Biomedical Awarded Multi-Year Glucose Monitoring System Agreement With HealthTrust Purchasing Group
Waltham, MA, April 1, 2009 - Nova Biomedical announced it has been awarded a new multi-year glucose monitoring system agreement with HealthTrust Purchasing Group, LP (HealthTrust). This new agreement provides the HealthTrust membership access to Nova's lab-accurate and interference-free StatStrip® Glucose technology for monitoring glucose levels in hospital patients.
The agreement is effective April 1, 2009 and runs through March 31, 2012. Products on the agreement include Nova's StatStrip® Glucose Monitoring System meters and advanced technology test strips with associated supplies.

StatStrip Glucose Monitoring System uses a novel glucose test strip technology that measures blood hematocrit level and other common interferences and eliminates their effect from the glucose result, reducing the likelihood of erroneous results arising from interferences that affect current glucose meters. StatStrip lab-like accuracy and freedom from interference for bedside glucose testing has been validated in more than 34 clinical studies worldwide, in a broad variety of critical care settings including ICU, Dialysis, NICU, OR, ED, and Tertiary Care. The remarkable pace at which the new StatStrip technology has been investigated and published by so many leading institutions (less that 18 months from its introduction) is testimony to the importance of this technology breakthrough for bedside glucose testing.
